cela fait un petit moment que je veux parler de Miss Brittany Bosco!!! oui rappelez vous bien de son nom.... elle est jeune, talentueuse et déterminée.
Elle nous vient tout droit de Savanah, aux Etats Unis.
la rencontre est assez étonnante.Elle m'a contactée via myspace et m'a demandé d'écouter ses productions. alors je me suis dit pourquoi pas? allons écouter ça!! il ne faut pas me le demander 2 fois:)
eh bien, j'ai eu la claque!!!!!!! gros coup de coeur!!!
le titre "Black Keys" est énorme!! Ce titre est paru sur l'album "Spectrum". Les beats sont produits par son acolyte Alex Goose. Je vous recommande vraiment cet album.... une TUERIE!!!!! mention spéciale à "Blues for blue"... sublime...touchant... émouvant même... et "Glitch"

J'ai tout de suite pensé à Musinah! d'ailleurs on pourrait la comparer à Musinah, mais aussi à Kissey Asplund pour son audace, et à J-Davey , à cette nouvelle vague d'artistes chanteuses-productrices indépendantes...
Mais je tiens à préciser que son style est unique!! Mademoiselle Brittany Bosco a du caractère!
alors pour définir son style, on va dire que c'est un mélange de de hip hop, d'électro jazz et de soul plutôt catchy et par moments futuriste/expérimental. elle a une voix reconnaissable... c'est smooth, sa voix est vraiment très jolie. Elle vous touche en plein coeur...elle passe d'un style à l'autre avec une facilité déconcertante ( soul, rap, gospel...) Incroyable!!!
Alors là je me suis dit, il faut absolument écrire quelque chose sur cette artiste underground.
Très jeune, elle a commencé à chanter à l'église dans une chorale gospel. ses influences musicales sont nombreuses :Sarah Vaughan, Brandy, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Musinah, Miles Davis, Nat King Cole, Charlie Parker et John Coltrane. Car Brittany Bosco aime le jazz!
Allez voici une mini interview que j'ai réalisé avec Brittany Bosco afin d'en savoir plus sur son parcours et personnalité:
N: how did you embrace music as a career?
Brittany Bosco : HowI came into music...that is funny! I've started singing in church like most entertainers. I found myself in the adult choir whenI was 6 or 7...yeah adult choir ..CRAZY.
I always knew I was a little different from the average kid because of my style and choice of music at a young age... I was listening to Sade, jazz standards, etc...Growing up my favorite song to sing was "Lean on Me"... I use to stand in the mirror and sing my heart away. Then I started singing in local talent shows and little tv things which really got me nowhere.
N: Did you have any mentors? How have you reached this level?
Brittany Bosco: I would say who I met to inspire my level and creativeness...I had a chance to meet Jill Scott and Erykah Badu which changed my life forever:
Erykah Badu told me to " just be myself find something that makes you different and ride it, just be you and people wil love it, nowadays everybody looks alike. Look at me, I wear an afro and turbans". after thatI did not compromise Brittany Bosco at all anymore. I've networked with many people through myspace that is how I really got ahead...word of mouths, blogs, features, etc...
N: What are you musical influences?
Brittany Bosco : All time favorites are :
- Sarah Vaughn : the top idole because of.her tone and the way she carries her notes are ridiculous, she is amazing. I get the most from her far as changing my voice, and jumping into character like in my songs "glitch" and "black keys".
- Brandy:I grew up wanting to be like her. She has probably the tightest backgrounds to date. She's a slept-on artist but I' have been a fan of her's since I was about 10 years old. Brandy was my very first concert, it was the "Never Say Never" tour. I knew I had to be a singer... I cried and cried that night because I wanted it so bad, not to mention I was in only 6th or 7th grade.
- Kim burrell: hands down beast.
- Jill Scott : stage presence and because of the way she controls the crowd + quality music!
- Muhsinah: her arrangements and production are ridiculous.
- Nate King Cole: TONE!!!! angelic.
- Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Tony Bennett, Esthero, Beck, George Benson, Coldplay.the list goes on and on...
